Instructions:

For the French brioche, mix flour, sugar and dry yeast.

Add lukewarm milk and egg and mix to a dough. Cut the butter into small pieces and also add to the dough with a pinch of salt.

Now knead the dough for at least 20 minutes so that the brioche also becomes nice and fluffy.

Then let the dough rise in a warm place for a good 1 hour. Then knead again for 5 minutes.

Now put the dough into a well-greased loaf pan and let it rise for another good hour.

Finally, brush with the egg yolk and sprinkle generously with hail sugar.

Preheat the oven to 150 degrees and bake the French brioche on the middle shelf for 45 minutes.
