Instructions:

For the mulled wine, finely chop dried fruit and warm with the mulled wine. Allow to cool.

For the sponge mixture, beat the butter with the sugar until creamy and gradually add the eggs. Mix flour with baking powder, vanilla and chocolate and stir into the mixture.

Fold in dried fruit with mulled wine and spread the mixture on a baking tray. Bake in the preheated oven at about 180 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes on the middle shelf.

After baking, spread with the mulled wine and powdered sugar glaze and sprinkle with the toasted almond slivers. Cut into lozenges or possibly rectangles.
