Instructions:

For the onion tart, fry bacon cubes in a pan. Add sliced onions and saute with a little fat or lard. Then add some water and cook for 10-15 minutes until soft. Now put the bacon cubes and onions aside and let them cool down.

Put the onion mixture into a sieve to drain off the liquid.

Separate the eggs and mix the yolks with the cream and season. Then whip the egg whites.

Roll out the yeast dough in a springform pan and pull it over the edge. Mix the cooled onion-bacon mixture with the egg yolk, cream and beaten egg white and spread on the dough.

Bake the onion cake in the oven at 250° C for about 30 minutes and then serve warm or cold.
