Instructions:

For the onion strudel with cumin for the dough, put flour, salt and 3 tablespoons of oil in a bowl. Gradually stir in 125 ml of lukewarm water. Then knead the dough until it separates from the edge of the bowl. Brush with oil and let rest, covered, for 30 minutes.

For the filling, peel the onions and cut them into rings. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion rings until golden. Add a little white balsamic vinegar and continue roasting until the liquid has evaporated. Season the onion mixture with cumin and season with salt and pepper.

Roll out the dough on a floured work surface in the shape of a rectangle or prepare the finished strudel sheets according to package instructions. Spread the onion filling on the bottom third. Roll up into a strudel and place seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the onion strudel with liquid butter and bake in the preheated oven at 200 °C for about 25 minutes.
