For the date-walnut bread, preheat the oven to 180 °C and line a loaf pan (approx. 1.5 l) with baking paper.

Put flour, baking powder, salt and gingerbread spice in a large bowl. Add butter in flakes and knead everything best with a hand mixer with dough hook.

Mix in the sugar, dates and walnuts. Then stir in the eggs. Mix milk with syrup and stir into the dough as well. If the dough is too dry, stir in some more milk.

Pour the batter into the pan and smooth it out. Bake the date-walnut bread in the oven at 180 °C for about 2 hours.

Preparation Tip:

You can eat the date walnut bread alone or with a spread, such as jam.
