For the choux pastry, bring milk or water to a boil with butter and salt. Add flour, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, and continue stirring over low heat until the mixture separates from the dishes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Gradually beat in the eggs and beat until smooth. While still warm, pipe into the desired shape and bake with a dash of water in a closed oven at 190 °C for about 25 minutes. Allow to cool, cut the doughnuts in half as desired and fill with vanilla whipped topping.
