Instructions:

Cut the baguettes lengthwise, but do not cut all the way through. Spread a little tomato sauce on each cut baguette.

2. melt butter in a frying pan and add green onions. Sauté over medium heat, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes until soft and golden. Remove from heat and cool leisurely.

3. beat cream cheese in a wide whisk until soft. Mix scallions with remaining butter. Add grated cheese and chive rolls and mix well. Season with pepper.

Fill cheese mixture between baguettes, mold cheese over top and press baguettes together again. Wrap each baguette tightly in aluminum foil.

5. heat baguettes on broiler for about 10 to 15 min, turning occasionally. Unwrap foil and check to make sure they are done and cheese mixture has melted. Bring to table garnished with fresh herbs and green salad leaves.

Tip: If there is not enough space on the broiler and you want to serve the baguettes at the same time as the other dishes, bake them in the heated oven at 200 °C /gas mark 6 for 15 min.

Our tip: As an alternative to fresh herbs, you can also use frozen ones – these are also characterized by a fresh taste!
