A simple but delicious cake recipe:

First, separate the egg yolks from the egg whites and divide the butter into two or three pieces. Coarsely crumble the cooking chocolate and let it melt gently over low heat in a simmering pot or in a bain-marie while stirring continuously, adding the two tablespoons of water. Gradually add the butter, then the sugar, and finally the egg yolks. Now fold in the flour. Finally, whip the egg whites until stiff. Carefully fold the chocolate mixture into the egg whites. Line the bottom of a small 22 cm ø cake springform pan with parchment paper and pour in the cake batter. Place in a cold oven and bake at 170 °C for 35 to 40 minutes. Remove from the pan and cool. Place on a large round cake plate and arrange the autumn leaves around it. Sprinkle everything with powdered sugar and decorate the cake with the chocolates.

Tip: whipped cream and coffee go especially well with this.
