For the apple and curd dumplings, peel, core and dice the apples. Then heat some butter in a pan and toss the apple cubes in it.

Add the applesauce and steam the apples in it for a while. Let the apples cool down and make the curd dough.

For the curd dough, beat the butter with the sugar and the eggs until fluffy. Stir in the curd cheese, a pinch of salt and the vanilla sugar.

Fold the cooled apple cubes and the flour into the mixture and place in the refrigerator for an hour. To form the dumplings, it is best to moisten your hands a little. If the dough still sticks a bit, you can add some semolina or breadcrumbs.

Bring salted water to a boil and remove from the heat. Let the apple and curd dumplings soak for 8-10 minutes. At the end, fry the breadcrumbs in butter and roll the dumplings in it.
