For the American Pancakes, beat the eggs. Add the milk and melted butter and mix. Mix all dry ingredients thoroughly.

Now slowly stir the dry ingredients into the liquids just until the mixture has a creamy consistency. Heat a frying pan. Pour in a little oil or butter.

Slowly, using a ladle, pour the mixture into the pan (amount: more or less depending on how big you want your pancakes to be).

Do not swirl the pan to get a nice thick, compact pancake. Bake over medium heat until air bubbles form on the top and start to pop.

The top should also no longer be runny or the pancake will lose its shape when flipped. Time to flip!

Continue baking briefly until the pancake is also golden brown on the bottom (a little more irregularly this time) – watch out, this is really fast!

Preparation Tip:

Pour maple syrup over the American pancakes. Alternatively, you can also use honey or jam, or simply sprinkle the pancakes with sugar. There are no limits to the imagination.
