Instructions:

For the dough, combine flour, water, salt and oil and knead until a smooth dough is formed.

Preheat the oven to 200 °C top and bottom heat.

Let the dough rest briefly and in the meantime cut the bacon into small cubes and the onion into fine slices.

Now roll out the dough very thinly and spread with the crème fraîche. Sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg over the tarte flambée and now top with the bacon cubes and onion rings.

Put the tarte flambée in the oven and let it bake for about 15 minutes, until the bacon is crispy and the onion is lightly browned.

Serve the Alsatian tarte flambée warm.
